Adapx Showcases Capturx Healthcare Solutions for Digital Pens at the Battlefield Healthcare Conference (September 15, 2009)

SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/15/09 -- Adapx (www.adapx.com) today announced that Capturx healthcare solutions will be showcased at the Battlefield Healthcare Conference in the exhibit hall and in Colonel Keith Salzman's presentation on "Advances in Patient Tracking and Medical Information Flow" at 3:00 pm PT today. Capturx solutions are being deployed by the U.S. Army to help automate a range of paper-based medical processes. In August, Capturx received a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army's Network Technology Command (NETCOM) for automating medical records within MedCom.

The presentation from U.S. Army-Madigan Army Medical Center's Colonel Salzman will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn more about how to streamline the information flow from Theater to the Clinical Data Repository, as well as how to better share information between the Department of Defense and Veteran's Administration. Attendees will also receive insight into what future technologies people can expect to see over the next few years.

The U.S. Army-Madigan Army Medical Center is using Capturx software with digital pens to automate paper-based screening tests for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Results are instantly digitized and available for analysis and sharing through Microsoft Office. Military medical teams in the field are also using Capturx to create immediate electronic medical records for wounded warriors using the standard paper Field Medical Card (DoD Form 1380) with digital pens. Field medics can quickly and reliably capture critical care information for wounded warriors in the field with pen and paper. The information is immediately digitized for sharing with any treating physician or integration into the soldier's permanent medical records.

"The US Army-Madigan Army Medical Center is leading the technological advances in the area of field medics," said Ken Schneider, CEO and president at Adapx. "They are completing a successful pilot test of the Capturx digital pen software and they believe that this technology could speed medical processes and broaden the coverage of TBI assessments."
